This year we have designated Cornelius hybrids in four categories to help you place hybrids more easily to maximize profit.
These categories are the following…
RAPID RISERS
RAPID RISERS are hybrids that have shown exceptional emergence, cold tolerance and seedling vigor. This designation allows you to easily identify the hybrids you should start your planting season with while soil temperatures are cooler. We encourage you to plant in warm dry soils. Even then the weather can change, and growing conditions deteriorate after planting. Rapid Risers combined with our exceptional seed quality and industry leading seed treatment package will give you the best chance to insure your early planted fields start with a vigorous healthy population.
ACRE ADAPTERS
ACRE ADAPTORS are hybrids that are widely adapted to different soil types and growing conditions. Cornelius Country is filled with fields with multiple soil types and differences farm to farm. Acre Adaptors give you flexibility planting on variable fields or on multiple fields with different conditions without changing hybrids. These hybrids consistently perform well under ideal as well as optimal conditions maximizing profit across acres
PROFIT PROTECTORS
PROFIT PROTECTORS are hybrids that have shown the ability to stand late in the season in tough conditions. Profit Protectors have exceptional stalk quality and plant health. These are hybrids that you can schedule to combine later in the harvest season and protect against late season yield loss. Scouting is still important as severe weather events can alter the best of plans. Planting Prot Protectors will give you a great shot at a happy end to harvest.
RELIABLE REPEATERS
RELIABLE REPEATERS are hybrids that have shown outstanding performance on corn following corn acres. These hybrids have the agronomic characteristics and disease tolerance to handle tougher corn following corn acres. Foliar fungicide treatments will further enhance the performance of Reliable Repeaters. We also recommend that you rotate among these Reliable Repeaters and not place the same hybrid on the same acre in successive years. Reliable Repeaters bring dependability to corn on corn acres.
